DESIGN AND DRAFTING
Precision DESIGN Studio specializes in the production of both manually drawn, and computer aided
design and drafting.
We produce Site Plans, Floor Plans, Foundation and Drainage Plans, Structural Detail Drawings,
Elevations, 3D Black and white illustrations, and water coloured architectural renderings.
NEW BUILDING DESIGN
The most effective means of designing environmentally appropriate buildings is to have design
facilitation meetings. Rather than having each building discipline work independently, the building
designers and client meet as a group on a regular basis to discuss the building design.
The object of the meetings is to come up with the optimum design for each building system while
taking into account all view points. The interaction of various professional disciplines results in a more
holistic and integrated building design. For example, the influence of window overhangs (which permit
the reduction of cooling system size) would not be appreciated unless all building professionals discuss
building design together. Our staff can act as the design facilitator for these meetings, making suggestions
for building features and to indicate possible interactions between building systems.
BUILDING RENOVATIONS
Our staff are dedicated to providing you with quality service that goes far beyond the industry standards
and requirements. We will guide you through the entire remodelling process, providing years of combined
design experience and construction know how for your remodelling project. Our scope of work
encompasses structural, electrical and plumbing all the way to millwork and colour co-ordination.
BUILDING PERMIT SERVICES
We Process building plans in Waterloo Region and all of its municipalities.
Exact submittal requirements may differ between building departments but the most basic requirements
Include, but are not limited to:
· Permit application signed and notarized
· Two sets of signed and sealed plans
· An upfront fee or permit fee
· Asbestos survey or letter
· Calculations for structural and energy
· Paving and drainage plans with calculations (for exterior projects)

Open Permits
There are numerous open permits in Waterloo Region. We will provide research and solutions for this
enormous problem facing the homeowner, prospective buyers, seller and the Real Estate agent.
Open permits are closed by means of an approved final inspection conducted by a qualified building
inspector. This is a complicated and involved process that requires the attention of an experienced
professional. We work expeditiously to bring closure to each case in a timely and efficient manner
by providing the proper documents and direction.
Zoning
We will provide many types of zoning consultations concerning use information, changes of use, variance
applications and hearings. We can research property for current zoning status and prospective changes,
tax roll information, and supply any other zoning information required by our client or building department.
